Helmeted police in riot gear stood guard as right-wing demonstrators converged on the German capital to mark the 30th anniversary of the death of Rudolf Hess, Adolf Hitler’s deputy.

About 500 people on each side turned out, police said. Read more at CNN.

  1. People don’t understand that the Germans of the Nazi era loved all the “treats” brought to them by the Nazi party: a car (VW bug) for every family, affordable vacations for even lower-middle class families, the Hitler Youth activities and camps in the forests, the equality brought to the youth that made rich and poor the same, better and safer conditions for blue collar workers, and eventually the Master Race feeling of superiority over the world accompanied by military victories throughout Europe.

(Sort of like what European socialists and American Democrats promise their people — with the exception of the last.)

They were content to ignore the blood of Jewish infants that streamed beneath all these “treats.”

Yes, some Germans were sorry when they realized the extent of things. But quite a few miss those times and wish them back. And this is what we’re seeing.
