Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s corruption trial resumed on Sunday with his lawyers requesting from the Jerusalem District Court more evidence from investigators against the Likud leader, claiming that certain documents are being withheld from the defense.

The trial, which accuses Netanyahu of fraud, breach of trust, and bribery, was initially launched in May.

While the prime minister attended the first hearing, he was exempted from appearing at the procedural stages of the trial, including Sunday’s hearing.

His lawyers have repeatedly tried to delay and discredit the proceedings, filing complaints against the prosecution which they accused of using “criminal tactics,” and asking for the indictment to be amended against the prime minister.

On Sunday, they complained that they had not received all the police files, therefore, have requested a delay in order to properly prepare a defense.
