netanyahuIsraeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said on Thursday night that former South African president Nelson Mandela, who passed away at the age of 95, “was one of the greatest figures of our time.”

“He was the father of his nation, a visionary, a freedom fighter who opposed violence. He set a personal example to his people during his long years in prison. He worked to heal the rifts within South African society and succeeded with his personality in preventing outbreaks of racist hatred. He will be remembered as the father of the new South Africa and, first and foremost, as a moral leader,” said Netanyahu. Full Story.

  1. He was good buddies with Yasser Arafat, Muammar Qadaffi, Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez.

He was a tireless advocate for the “Palestinian” Arabs in their war with Israel.

You know, I could be referring to both Mandela AND Obama!!!

  2. It’s kind of interesting that Mandela died this week during the parsha where Yosef forgives his brothers. If Mandela had any greatness, it was the fact that he seemed to harbor no revenge towards his oppressors and he may even have prevented a bloodbath on his release and the hand over of the country to the white majority.

Mandela’s first employers (a firm of attorneys) were Jews.

However, let’s not forget who is chaverim were. This seems to have “conveniently” been forgotten. But if you need any reminder, do a Google image search for “mandela arafat”, “mandela gaddafi” and “mandela castro”.

It’s also a reminder that the people that the Umas Ha’Olam consider great don’t even reach the toenails in greatness to, lehavdil, our gedolim.
