Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu nominated Nadav Argaman to be the new director of the Israel Security Agency (ISA), better known as the Shint Bet, today.

The 55-year-old father of three will replace Yoram Cohen who has served as director of the ISA since May, 2011.

Argaman was recruited to a special military unit in the IDF in 1978. He joined the ISA in 1983, serving in a variety of operational posts.

Argaman became ISA director of operations in 2003 and served in that capacity until 2007 when he became the ISA representative to the United States. He then served as deputy director of the ISA for three years.
