Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu opened the weekly security cabinet meeting on Sunday with a jab thrown at Tehran over its downing of a passenger jet carrying 176 people on board.
With Tehran initially claiming that the plane went down due to an engine failure rather than an anti-air missile strike, Netanyahu said it had been lying from the get-go despite being aware of the real cause of the tragedy.
“Iran lied. Just as they lied about their secret nuclear program, they are lying now about the downing of the Ukrainian aircraft,” Netanyahu said.
