Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke with US President Joe Biden in a “friendly and warm” conversation, the Prime Minister’s office said on Wednesday.

According to the press release, the conversation between the two leaders lasted for about an hour.

Netanyahu and Biden “noted their long-standing personal ties” and agreed to “work together to further strengthen the strong alliance between Israel and the United States.”

The two also discussed the efforts against the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

The conversation was held almost a month into Biden’s term as the president — a delay that has fueled media speculation on what could be behind it.

  1. the reason he finally called 1) obama told him too; 2) with the elections approaching in Israel, he tried to make the PM look inconsequential as if he is going to lose, so why bother; 3) get it out of the way – pressure
