Following a relentless assault, enduring heavy gunfire for a span of 8 hours, all Israeli soldiers wounded during the operation in Jenin were successfully evacuated and transported to Rambam Hospital for medical treatment.
One of the soldiers shared their harrowing experience, stating, “We faced intense gunfire and were targeted with explosives from multiple locations. However, in conjunction with our allied forces, we managed to apprehend the intended individuals and dealt a significant blow to a considerable number of terrorists. Immediately after our unit came under fire, myself and another medic within our unit swiftly attended to the wounded. Shortly thereafter, paramedics and additional reinforcements arrived. We remain resolute in our determination to recover swiftly and rejoin our comrades in the field.”
Prime Minister Netanyahu paid visits to the soldiers and remarked, “We have successfully neutralized or detained an unprecedented number of terrorists. Our forces encountered a well-orchestrated ambush in Jenin, facing live ammunition. During my visits, I was astounded by the diverse representation of Israeli society among our forces and their exceptional cooperation in rescuing their comrades. Truly, they are an extraordinary group of individuals. I extend my gratitude to the medical teams who have displayed exceptional care for our soldiers. This, too, exemplifies Israel’s strength.”
Commissioner Kobi Shabtai of the police force also visited the wounded soldiers and commended their actions, stating, “You acted with utmost professionalism under perilous circumstances, undertaking a complex mission to combat terrorism. I am immensely proud of you and wish you a swift recovery. We find ourselves in a challenging security environment, but the Israel Police, IDF, ISA, and all security agencies send a resolute message: we will apprehend terrorists and their operatives wherever necessary. We will provide aid and support to the injured. I extend my gratitude to the medical authorities for their dedicated care towards our troops.”
Reports indicate that the operation aimed to capture two operatives affiliated with Hamas and Islamic Jihad. During the operation, at least five IDF vehicles were damaged by improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and required towing amidst a prolonged exchange of gunfire. As part of the rescue mission, the IDF employed helicopter attacks in Jenin for the first time since 2002.
All Israeli forces and vehicles have since withdrawn from Jenin. The Palestinian Authority has reported five fatalities and thirty-five injuries as a result of IDF gunfire.
In addition to the IDF soldiers and Border Police officers, a canine named Daggoo from the IDF’s Oketz canine unit was expeditiously transported for medical attention via helicopter. Daggoo had been accompanying the soldiers in the vehicle struck by an IED in Jenin. Following an examination by the unit veterinarian, the dog underwent an urgent CT scan, which confirmed the veterinarian’s concerns of internal bleeding and a pelvic fracture.

What kind of consolation is it if they weren’t allowed to kill them and will be out of the revolving door jails in no time?
