Netanyahu Visits Kosel On Eve of Elections

843Likud head Binyamin Netanyahu visited the Kosel tonight together with his wife and two children, Avner and Yair, on the eve of the Israeli elections. Netanyahu, who by all accounts is expected to be Israel’s next prime minister, was greeted by Rav Shmuel Rabinowitz, the rov of the Kosel, and he then went to daven for success in the elections for Israel’s 18th Knesset.

Netanyahu’s wife, Sarah, went to the ezras noshim where she davened for her husband’s success.

After saying some Tehillim, Netanyahu placed a kvittel in the Kosel. During his visit to the Kosel, he answered questions from newspaper reporters who gathered around him.

Earlier in the day, Yisrael Beitenu head Avigdor Lieberman visited the Kosel and placed a kvittel.

Sunday night, IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi paid a visit to the Kosel to offer tefillos and thanks for the nissim and successes in the recent Cast Lead operation in Gaza.

Rav Rabinowitz hosted Lt.-Gen. Ashkenazi and joined him in the tefillos. Afterwards, a festive seudas hodaah was held in the Chashmonaim Hall to the left of the uncovered section of the Kosel

Lt.-Gen. Ashkenazi also davened for the speedy return of Gilad Shalit.
