New 28 Minute Train Line From Tel Aviv To Yerushalayim To Start In March

Transportation Minister Israel Katz said on Tuesday that the new Tel-Aviv Yerushalayim train line could start operating at the end of March.

According to reports in Israeli TV channel Hadashot TV, the line will be free of charge for the first three months.

A game-changer for many Israeli commuters, the new train line should cover the 54 kilometers between Tel Aviv and Yerushalayim in a mere 28 minutes. Read more at i24NEWS.

  1. It should be noted that many prominent rabbonim have stated that it is assur to ride the train if the tracks/infrastructure was built on Shabbos (by Jews). The reason is because it’s assur to benefit from chillul shabbos.
    Since this was the case for a significant part of the line, it must be asked if frum yidden are allowed to ride this train.

  2. And what about the main highway from TA to Yerusholaim which everyone has been useing for years,was that not constructed on shabbos ?.

  3. They say that the terror attacks that occurred on the roads especially on the busses were on streets open on shabbos. Years ago I had an israeli show me all the streets where busses blew up and I checked each street if they are open on shabbos. And yes they were. The Gemorrah states a fire happens in an area where there is chillul shabbos. How true it is.
