donald-sterlingDeadspin has published a new clip of racist remarks reportedly made by Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling. In the clip, Sterling allegedly tells his acquaintance, “Don’t come to my games. Don’t bring black people, and don’t come.”

He also makes some strange comments about Israel, saying “It’s the world! You go to Israel, the blacks are just treated like dogs” and that black Jews are “100 percent less” than the white Jews.

It’s been a day of backlash towards Sterling. In light of TMZ’s leaked audio recording of a man the site claims is Sterling telling his acquaintance to stop “associating with black people,” the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People announced it has rescinded his lifetime award.

The National Basketball Association, however, is not moving so fast. Commissioner Adam Silver said he would not impose any sanctions on Sterling until an investigation into his alleged racist remarks is completed. “All members of the NBA family should be afforded due process and a fair opportunity to present their side of any controversy,” Silver said. Read more at Deadspin.

  1. Esteemed Legal Counsel of Mr Sterling

in order to get the proceedings against Your client to be dismissed immediately, you simply have to argue in court that – as everyone knows – dogs are routinely treated better than ordinary humans.

Please don’t forget to pay my honorary, of course.

  2. Wow, this is great. Lets see what else “comes out”. Alleged this alleged that. When a Black says these things about whites, the media is as silent as can be. Hypocrites.

  3. Because he is a Jew and it is a Chillul Hashem so we have an obligation to offset it and it is also important to live vicariously and realize that our words can be recorded in this world and are recorded for the next world and there are consequences.

  4. I’ve got a question… is it true?

Ops, I forgot… you’re not allowed ever ever to say anything bad about Israel

  5. “Shouldn’t be on this site.”

When any Jew, no matter how distant from observance of the mitzvot, makes a chilul HaShem, it reflects badly on all of us. Unfortunately some commenters on another article about Sterling were compounding the CH by making excuses for him. 🙁

  6. Sterling, born Donald Tokowitz the child of Jewish immigrants has made a Chilul Hashem by showing blatant disregard of Kavod HaBriyos. Our community is fortunate that the backlash to the statement has not taken an anti-Semitic turn, probably because he changed his name.

  7. #8: Unfortunately, I’m afraid that everyone knows he’s Jewish. The recording clearly has this woman asking him “You’re Jewish, aren’t you? Why is this any different than the Holocaust?”. Sterling then answers something to the extent that she’s dumb to compare his way to racism. You can hear the whole thing from Deadspin.
