Despite serious doubts whether Avigdor Lieberman will be a minister after the elections or whether his party will even exist, he decided to refurnish his office at the cost of $145,000 at a time when inflation is driving many into hunger.

Lieberman even had the gall to request an exemption of the furniture order from a public tender.

“People have nothing to eat because of Lieberman, and he is buying new furniture for his office at a time when he’ll be kicked out from there in three months,” said MK Moshe Gafni. “The extent Lieberman is cut off from the reality we’re living in is unbelievable. It doesn’t interest him how much citizens are suffering because of him.”

  1. It’s not HIS fault the furniture cost so much. Lieberman, himself, made it pretty clear, not too long ago, that the cost of living in Israel is due to those who are studying in yeshivas, and not working. I bet you he could get the furniture for a third of what he paid for, if the Yeshivas would close down.
I give him credit, where credit is due, because he’ll likely be out of office in a few months, and he is still refurnishing his office with the most luxurious furniture. Why, you ask?
Elementary, my dear Watson! He is doing it for the next guy who moves in.
    Not bad.

    • The people working in ישיבה aren’t _people married with kids working normal jobs. The economy doesn’t seem to care if you do or don’t learn…Lakewood has a good economic situation with thousands of people learning!
