New Jersey Seeks To Ban Text-Walking

A New Jersey assemblywoman, Pamela Lampitt, introduced a measure that would ban walking while texting, leading a potential penalty of 15 days in jail or a $50 fine.

There is no current plan for enforcement from police officers who likely wouldn’t prioritize stopping people from walking with their phones out.

  1. The important thing is that people have to re-learn how to act responsibly. It’s become a forgotten art and extends to far too many areas of life.
