The Knesset passed a law unanimously that criminalizes denying Hamas’s Oct. 7, 2023 attacks on southern Israel.
Oded Forer, of Yisrael Beytenu, proposed the legislation, which 16 members supported in its third and final reading on Tuesday.
The law designates denying the massacre to defend or support Hamas or its partners, as a criminal offense punishable by up to five years in prison.
The proposal clarifies that statements made incidentally, in good faith, or for legitimate purposes will not be considered a criminal offense.
The Israeli attorney general must approve indictments under the new law.
The legislation is reportedly modeled on a 1986 law, which the Knesset passed and which criminalizes Holocaust denial.
“The horrors of Oct. 7 cannot be denied,” Forer stated after the law was approved. “The truth is more important than ever. We will not let lies and hatred prevail.” JNS

Is there prison for accusing the Knesset for the Oct 7 massacre?
not a democracy, they don’t understand the concept of freedom of speech
Hey dope do you really think that freedom of speech should include the right to lie defame and incite to violence
“dope” how did your insults get past the censor?
IN any case yes Hamas attacked and recorded it on video ( also made illegal to watch as it’s “terrorist” videos, not considered history unless you are one of the elite exemptions). But one fact can’t be denied those who warned about it, from IDF spotters to Intel on the ground were silenced…it was allowed to happen for whatever reason.
Will the truth be considered denial?
Why cant Israeli’s have videos that show the attack?
Why is Israel so afraid? Why the need to control the narrative?
