New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo suggested Monday he may put the third phase of reopening from coronavirus restrictions on hold for the New York City area amid what he said were warning signs that residents are not abiding by social distancing guidelines.

Both Cuomo and New York Mayor Bill de Blasio expressed concerns specifically about the planned reopening of dine-in restaurant service at reduced capacity, with Cuomo telling NY1 this aspect was of particular concern.

“We have a week before New York City enters the next phase and we have numbers every day … but malls and indoor dining are things that I’m concerned about and we may consider slowing them down for next week,” Cuomo told NY1. “I would not want to roll back anything we’ve done. I want to continue to move forward but we may move forward with caution.”

It is difficult for me to say it but they probably are actually right about this.

Dine-in restaurants are not so important that they can not remain closed until there is more clarity about which way things are headed.

    • “Dine-in restaurants are not so important” Until they go out of business which will happen to 50% of them, Are you that stupid?

        • Dear Charlie Chaplin 4:06pm, staying within four walls under the gubmit-imposed house arrest has much worse health repercussions, and consequently higher mortality, than a virus that has a fatality rate comparable with flu(keep in mind that half of the covid19 deaths in NY, for an example, were caused by Cuomo forcing the covid19 patients unto the nursing homes). It’s not a matter of lives versus businesses, but a matter of the hot-headed socialist
-fascist knee-jerk reaction versus actually trying to save more lives in the long term.

  2. “we may move forward with caution” because of the corona criminals who are being pursued roaming the streets.

  3. A prostrate economy and race riots coupled with public officials getting paid every minute asking the rest of the country for a massive bail out discriminating against free exercise of religion in favor of rioters and unwilling to take any risks whatsoever in reopening the economy equals politics as usual in NY NJ Connecticut Pennsylvania Illinois and California
