Frustrated parents lashed out at Mayor de Blasio on Saturday amid uncertainty about how much longer students and teachers will meet face-to-face in city classrooms.
With the Big Apple’s coronavirus numbers hovering just below the 3% threshold for a citywide school shutdown, dozens of parents and schoolchildren rallied in Foley Square to protest the metric.
Daniela Jampel, 37, one of the protest organizers, called the city’s approach “arbitrary.”
“I think he just chose 3% and hasn’t explained the science behind it,” said the Washington Heights mother of two. “Schools have been open for two months and we now know they are safe. Yes there have been a few cases, but there is very little if any school transmission.”

I’m glad people are waking up to the fact that the number system that they use, this percentage, is a complete and utter fabrication put in place to scare people.
The percentage we get is the percentage of people who tested positive versus the amount of tests. The problem is that’s NOT an accurate number.
The real number of positive cases in NYC is REALLY… 0.07494118% -LESS THAN ONE PERCENT!!! Why, because you have to use the number of the New York City population as the base not just the people who took tests. If you have 10 people in your house and one of them gets tested for strep and is positive, it’s not 100%, it’s only 10% of the house. The same with the city of New York, you can’t take the number of the people who tested, it needs to be everyone.
This is not only in New York, this is the same thing all over the place. The numbers that are being reported, the percentages, are total fabrication and they are only done just to get you nervous. It happens to be the numbers running below 1% and most of the country!
The positivity rate for NYC public schools has been 0.17%. In other words, the safest place to be is in a public school.
The only reason for shutting the schools s because the teacher’s union says teachers can stay home and be paid.
Fire the teachers and hire non-union people to teach!

It is all about the all-powerful corrupt teachers union. The UFT is thee most corrupt Union in the entire country. The contractors & plumbers association unions are childs play compared to the corrupt out-of-control UFT. The teachers want to do nothing and still get their outrageous salary, benefits, & pensions. They continue to rape the taxpayers of this City and we get NOTHING IN RETURN!
You posters are so naive. You still think that the corona “cases” and the positive nonsense have anything to do with medical issues? First of all, the CDC has clearly stated there is no test for corona – and we proved it well. Secondly the closures are all about the upcoming riots after Trump’s being reelected.
