Russian chess grandmaster Garry Kasparov and former Australian chess representative John Adams took to Twitter to slam the idea that chess is racist because it allows the white piece to go first, JPOST reports.
“The ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation Sydney radio station) have taken the view that chess is RACIST given that white always go first,” Adams wrote on Twitter. “Trust the taxpayer funded national broadcaster to apply ideological Marxist frameworks to anything & everything in Australia!”
“With all the drama resulting from COVID-19, I am amazed that the ABC is broadcasting on irrelevant topics!”
Kasparov told those unhappy with the rule, that white pieces in chess move first, than they should pick up another game, instead of using taxpayer money to probe into the rule’s origins.
“If you are worried that the game of chess is racist, please take up Go, where black moves first, instead of looking foolish by wasting taxpayer money at a state broadcaster to ‘investigate,'” Kasparov said.

so, if black went first it would be racist the other way? oops, impossible. by definition, blacks cant be racist. but, isnt describing someone by the color of his skin racist? gee, i’m so mixed up! if it’s true that whites are (or appear to be) privileged, then people of color want the same privileges, so why cant they also be racist, too? now i’m more confised than i was before

Can one possibly debate that white is also a color? Yes, if the one debating is off-color (verging on the indecent according to Merriam Webster Dictionary).
Turning the cart In fact, in science, black is not a color, and white is a color. So, one can truthfully say whites are people of color. But is so, where does that leave blacks?

If I was a black person, I would not take kindly to the expansion of the definition of racism to a comical level, which would only cause racism to become more socially acceptable in the long term, once the shock value of the word “racist” will subside, due to its ridiculous overuse. But then again, absence of the long term thinking skills is why they were chosen as a vehicle of the socialist-fascist takeover, to begin with. Historically, serving as a vehicle of a revolution, has never been a rewarding experience – they will suffer the most under the newly empowered socialist-fascists.

If African-Americans played competitive chess and taught that to their children I would market a green-blue chessboard. But I think I would not sell many of those.
“white”??? it is one PLAYER who moves first, usually they move a pawn. (Am I offending anyone by saying “pawn”?) It would make no difference if the first move would be a black piece. Players would take turns in tournaments or throw a coin or decide upon players’ ratings who should move first. So, go ahead and insist that black pieces are moved first, or change the colour scheme. That’s surely the most pressing problem People of Colour and Afroamericans have, isn’t it?
Buy out all the chess games now, one day those black pieces will be rare artifacts
And what about backgammon or Othello?
