Why is he wearing something with a cross on it at a yeshiva commencement ceremony…..
Nice words.
However, it is somewhat disconcerting and disturbing to see the multiple crosses prominently displayed on the garment of the speaker (even though I think they are part of logo of another university).
He couldn’t find another garment, without six or more crosses, to use when speaking at a YU event?
P.S. It seems that the Brookline congregation he talks about is not Orthodox.
What about the fact that he is a JEW in YESHIVA UNIVERSITY and HE IS NOT WEARING A YARMULKE!!!
I do not believe that is considered a cross.
Does he still make electric shavers?
It’s the Columbia University logo; he graduated in 1965 with a bacherlors degree. Interestingly enough, Columbia University’s seal has the shem havaya on top of it. A bas relief of the seal is embedded in front of the school’s Butler Library, and I always had to remember to walk around it when I was there (’71E, ’77 GSAS)..
On the other hand, he got an MBA from Harvard in 1965. I think it’s customary to wear the robes of the school in which one got his highest degree, so he probably should have worn one from there, which has a less controversial logo and seal.
he must have donated a lot of $
