New Jersey’s U.S. Sen. Frank Lautenberg has been honored for his contributions to the Jewish community and Israel.
The Democrat was feted Wednesday in New York at the annual gala for Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish Campus life.
Lautenberg is the Senate’s oldest member, at 89. He was absent from the ceremony because of a chest cold, but it was broadcast to his home.
