A senior U.S. defense official told The Daily Beast there is no indication that the three terrorist attacks—in France, Tunisia, and Kuwait—were coordinated.
Terrorists decapitated a man at an American-owned industrial chemical factory near Lyon, France, which they also unsuccessfully attempted to bomb. The suspect, Yassine Salhi, was apprehended shortly after. A bombing at a Shiite mosque in Kuwait killed 25 and left more than 200 injured. Some 2,000 people were inside the mosque during the explosion. In Tunisia, gunmen opened fire on a tourist-heavy hotel in the seaside city of Sousse and left some 37 dead, mostly visitors from Europe and the UK.
