While a growing measles outbreak has prompted officials in one Rockland County to ban unvaccinated children from public spaces, buses and trains, New Jersey officials say no similar plans are being considered in Ocean County despite a stubborn outbreak here.

As of last week, New Jersey had eight confirmed measles cases so far this year, and six of those were related to an ongoing outbreak in Ocean County, according to the New Jersey Department of Health. In contrast, health officials in Rockland County reported 153 cases of measles, 82 percent of them people who never received the MMR vaccine for measles, mumps and rubella.

On Tuesday, Rockland County officials banned unvaccinated minors from public places where 10 or more people congregate, such as churches and synagogues, parks, restaurants, day cares, schools and public buses and trains.

New Jersey Health Commissioner Shereef Elnahal said New Jersey has no plans to follow Rockland County’s measures.

“There are a number of interim steps we can take if we see a surge in the number of cases,” he said.

  1. They’re finally understanding that if vaccines worked so well why ban unvaccinated people and that only the nonvaxxed will be at risk if vaccines really worked.

      • What a dumb comparison. Who says bulletproof vests works so well anyhow? It’s a 100% fact that those who got the measles as children are immune for life, while those who got these risky injections are NOT immune for life. Proof of this is the adults born after 1963 are contracting measles when they’re exposed to it.

  2. Banning is unamerican unpopular unjewish and ugly. We have rights. Let us alone. Respect our choices, the Torah way.

  3. Vaccines are loaded with extremely dangerous toxins and poisons. Why would any sane person allow himself to be subjected to such an injection and the deadly consequences that follow?
