Mayor Michael Bloomberg hates being interrupted, so he interrupted a news conference today to make that point. Bloomberg was upset about a tape recorder that started playing unexpectedly in the jacket pocket of a blogger who uses a wheelchair and hearing aids. The device went off during a news conference called by Gov. David Paterson to announce a new attempt to legalize toeivah marriage in New York state.It took a while for blogger Michael Harris to turn off the device.
Bloomberg stopped his prepared remarks until Harris managed to turn it off. He said the event was too important to allow for such a disruption.
Harris says the mayor embarrassed him.
