At a town board meeting in Rockville Center, a Long Island village of about 25,000 residents in Nassau County, New York, a female resident got up at the podium and “warned” them of the consequences of allowing Jews to move in to the community, stating that Rockville Center will “be next.”

The resident calls for the outlawing of the establishment of shuls in homes, going on to describe how horrific it will be if Orthodox Jews move in to the neighborhood in a blatant display of disgusting anti-Semitism.

The resident claims that Orthodox Jews form their communities because they do not drive on Shabbos and therefore must reside near a shul.

Imagine if someone had said the same things about other nationalities moving into a neighborhood. There would likely be an outcry. But Jews? Jews are the old whipping boy, free for everyone to hate on with zero consequences.

  1. The main issue isn’t her warning, which is full of lies and egregious errors, despite containing some true facts, but the fact that she represents many in her community, AND the committee’s answer that they will immediately do something about “it”.

  2. I could only imagine the committee’s reaction if she had spoken up about blacks with their inherent crime, the outright illegals, or same-gender couples with rainbow flags potentially moving into that community. She would have been shut down instantly, and labeled a reactionary bigot.

  3. It’s those @#@#$& menorahs that are the problem, i tell you. They put them up in front of buildings to show that they’re synagogues. They have them in the synagogue too. I don’t know, where I live hardly any of the shuls have menorahs in front of them.

I guess she doesn’t want people’s residences to go up and cost so that perhaps if they’re looking to sell, as she herself said because they were looking to downsize, that they can make a lot more money than they otherwise would have. If the shchoyrim moved in, I guarantee her the prices of the houses will not go higher. Maybe that’s what she wants? I guess she’s happy as long as it’s not those Jews with the menorahs.

  4. We are in galus. This is not antisemitism. They want a residential neighborhood. Not a shul that doesn’t pay taxes that is in a residential neighborhood. Valid request.

  5. HATE??? Did you hear hate in her presentation??? Or did you hear concern about brinign up her kids and possibly paying higher taxes…. about chnaging the nature of the neighborhoood. If people who practice thier faith proactively and energeticall like we do would move into Boro Park, Flatbus, Lakewood…. would we not try to dissuade them or pass ordinances to stop them? I am not happy about it….. and no one is forcing them to sell….. but I hear self preservation and not hate against us….

  6. A great Kiddush Lubavitch, nachas for the Rebbeh shlita. She mentions (in the first minute of the recording) a property with an almost eight foot high menorah on their front lawn . That is what the Habad Lubavitch sect does. They leave their menoras, originally allegedly for Chanukah, out all year long.

P.S. Mazal tov to the Rebbeh on his 120th birthday tomorrow.

  7. Lets be brutally honest, Frum neighborhoods are not appealing to an average non Jew. The traffic and noise are a big turn off to anyone that wants to live in peace. Having a shul on every corner does cause parking issues to many. If I live in a quiet neighborhood for decades and wish to continue living there, I would be equally upset to have the neighborhood turn into a noisy and messy place. The notion that she should be quiet because her property value will go up is ridiculous.

    • You’re right. A lady in jackson complained to me that the yidden on her block are not goires her, and zug nisht gut morgin vchu… Basic middos and derech eretz is a yesod of yidishkeit.

  8. On this websites morons post dangerous stupidity. Defending this wicked women and the haters in the city board. This is in a board presentation, and they will not openly state how they wish hitler did his job, but this is the closest they will go, and further if we don’t call them out and take necessary actions.
Using boards and zoning to stop religious groups is a chosen step 1 to stop us from moving where wish, specifically because morons defend it as their right.
They have no such rights, anyone can move anywhere , and zoning being used to target a specific religious group is as discriminatory as shouting the N word at Obama

  9. In my shul, in a residential area in a place not zoned or intended as a shul, 90% of the minyan on Shabbos stroll in groups right down the middle of the street instead of the sidewalk mere feet away. Many times passing drivers are irritated or frustrated. Meanwhile, the Rov said his married children aren’t coming to him for Pessach bc they are not vaccinated and if they crossed the border with שטר מזויף and are found out, it would cause חילול השם. No clue why he ignores the all-year long sidewalk vs street חילול השם.
When a goy in Area A sees what a shul means, then the goy is scared for frum Jews to move into their Area B.
On the other side of the coin, one mesifta rebbe passed away in this same area and an affluent Catholic neighbor confided that he only remained in the area to be near that rebbe, as he was the holiest person he knew.

  10. Michelle Galante Zangari
She lives at 7 Yorkshire Rd
    Rockville center NY 11570
    Her number is 5162363235
She stood up at a board meeting asking for laws be changed to target stopping synagogues, so that Orthodox Jews don’t move into a neighborhood, and some people here say that is fine.
    Disgusting

    • Inappropriate to post personal info like that. It should be removed ASAP.

She is entitled to speak out. If you have an issue with what she said, address the issue, not the person.

    • Nobody said it’s fine to stop anyone from moving into a neighborhood. Some did say that she is entitled to express concerns that she feels might be valid.
