Martha’s Vineyard residents might expect “a few thousand more” migrants like the 50 who showed up unexpectedly Wednesday, Gov. Ron DeSantis’ staff says, though it was unclear if that was a promise or mere Twitter arguing, Newsmax reports.
Two planes filled with mostly Venezuelans arrived from Texas on Wednesday with less than an hour’s notice at the vacation spot for the wealthy just off the Massachusetts coast. DeSantis took credit for the flights, saying they were part of the state’s efforts to move migrants to liberal “sanctuary” areas that have said they welcome the influx of immigrants into the country. Republican governors of Texas and Arizona have done the same, sending busloads of immigrants to Washington, D.C., New York City, and Chicago.

I’m pretty much in the center so I see both sides on most issues but here I really don’t get the liberal viewpoint or what they are complaining about here. The most legitimate complaint I saw coming from the liberal side is that De Santis did not coordinate it with us first before dumping off the immigrants. Even if you are going to dump them off let us know first so we can prepare first.
But from the POV of De Santis and Abbot that is totally not a valid complaint. Do the illegal immigrants coordinate with the states of Texas and Florida and let them know they are coming first? If liberals expect Texas and Florida to deal with illegal immigrants with no prior warning so can they.
The other liberal complaints are such open hypocrisy they deserve no comment

The Republicans seem to be giving a perfect solution to the immigration debate. They are saying “We oppose immigration-you support it so we will facilitate the immigrants way to your state if they come to ours. Not only that we will cover the costs” What better and more bipartisan solution to the debate, that gives everyone what they want can there possibly be? But still the Democrats complain

As far as the holocaust goes firstly we aren’t discussing people who are fleeing persecution and threats to their lives and secondly I’m sure that had my grandparents murdered in the holocaust been offered the option of going to Florida to Texas and then being given an all expenses paid trip to a state that welcomes immigrants they would have been beyond thrilled.
What on earth on the pro immigration Democrats complaining about? They are getting immigrants exactly like they want.

I’m going to humbly take my place among the feeble minded and ask you to explain to me in terms that even I can understand what the sanctuary cities and states are complaining about. They welcome illegal immigrants, why shouldn’t they be transported there under very nice conditions, by those who feel incapable of dealing with them?

Anon…So True. The sanctuary cities agreed to be a sanctuary; they made up nice welcoming signs and people were putting them in yards. However, when the destitute folks arrive the rich people collapsed with the realization of taking care of them. So now, what will they do with those cute signs?? Hopefully, they will recover because I read more illegals are happily on their way to their sanctuary.
I believe there is a lot of available space in this Delaware Basement, and commencing Noon 1/20/2025 they can keep sleepy joe company, when President Donald שליט”א shall אי”ה be returning to the White House
