Not Funny: Colbert Apologizes To ISIS, Recently Unseated By Trump As ‘The Enemy Of The American People’

To become the top threat to the United States, the Islamic State has engaged in years of brutality, beheadings and propaganda – manifesting an American nightmare scenario.

But as of last week, all that is good for is second place on the list of U.S. enemies, according to “Late Show” host Stephen Colbert.

The change is due to a tweet – a presidential tweet, but still a tweet.

Last week, President Trump declared the U.S. news media the “enemy of the American people.” And he called out a few names that he considered particularly egregious: the New York Times, NBC News, ABC, CNN and CBS.

“You know who I feel bad for? ISIS,” Colbert said during his monologue. “They try so hard. Sorry, ISIS. If you want to get on the list, you’ve got to publish photos of Trump’s inauguration crowd. Then he’ll be really, really angry at you. So sad. Hidden victims.”

Trump tweeted: The FAKE NEWS media (failing @nytimes, @NBCNews, @ABC, @CBS, @CNN) is not my enemy, it is the enemy of the American People!

  1. psst…mr colbert, he did not “unseat” isis. he merely told isis to move over. there is not just one thing that can make someone or something an “enemy of the american people”. phony/fake/exaggerated press is quite often just as harmful to the the american people as someone that wants you off the face of the earth. just look at what the propagandist press did to the jews in the nazi era. the nazis wanted the jews to disappear and the (liberal left) media want trump to disappear. it’s as simple as that.

  2. I would say it’s funny, but then I thought that there are real people who have been killed! Families who are grieving. It’s about knowing what might be funny, but being mature and having the ability to forgo a laugh for values

    • That doesnt exist in the industry. If it will get people to laugh, then go ahead. I miss the days when hosts were funny. Today all they do is make fun of political opponents. I dont think about trump all day! Cant they find something else to talk about?

  3. If you think about it, it’s inappropriate, but so is a well-known comedy series that mined the expression “Soup Nazi” for laughs. If you’re looking for refinement from secular comedians you’ll be sadly disappointed.

  4. Colbert’s standing was diminished, for many people, to the point of nothingness by the excessively cruel video he prepared for election night, expecting Pres. Trump to lose. After that I can’t consider anything he says about the President as being funny, too much venom has been revealed.

  5. colbert should be thanking trump. his ratings went up since trump bacame president because more people are tuning in to see him bash the prez
