NSA Director Offered to Resign

nsa-army-general-keith-alexanderAs if making all diplomatic events infinitely embarrassing wasn’t enough, Edward Snowden could also have been blamed for taking someone’s job. National Security Agency director Gen. Keith Alexander offered to resign after Snowden’s massive document leak, a senior U.S. official told the Wall Street Journal.

President Obama decline the invitation, but since then, the NSA has faced one of its biggest crises in its 62-year history.

“[NSA employees] get up in the morning and, and their neighbor says, ‘Are you listening to me?'” said Rep. C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger, a Maryland Democrat on the House intelligence committee.

On a less embarrassing personal note, Germany wants a “no-spy” agreement worked into a decades-in-the-making U.S.-European trade deal. Read more at The Wall Street Journal.
