The number of registered yeshiva students in Israel has hit a new all-time high, according to a report by the Israel Democracy Institute.
Nearly 125,000 full-time students registered in Israeli yeshivas in 2017 – nearly one-third more than in 2014.
That figure, the IDI noted, includes both Israeli students and foreign nationals.
There has also been a slight decline in the number of charedim enrolled in secular higher education programs, with 9,400 enrolled in academic programs in colleges and universities across Israel in 2017, down from the 9,600 in 2016.

Excellent, we will soon outnumber the atheist secular Zionists. This is our army. Torah is our protection not the shmad evil idf
grow up. you sound infantile
and who will be in the army?
we HAVE an army, all the botei midrashim and kollel yungeleit is OUR army, the IDF follows the ways of Eisav and as gedolim said about the Zionists they are the Amalek of our time.
BH. Only the learning of Torah will continue to protect EY.
I’m surprised. I thought there was a gezeras gius for the past few years and thousands and thousands of bochurim were getting drafted into the army.
There IS a gezeras gius for all bochurim but it’s fought off with protests. Which is why they can sit and learn.
Not a contradiction. The IDF said that in 2017, 3,070 bochurim were drafted.
Hmm those evil Zionist’s are allowing this?
