Marc Molinaro says he’ll be a hands-on governor if he’s elected to the statehouse — and he proved it on Monday, THE NEW YORK POST reports.

The Republican gubernatorial candidate sprang into action when he noticed a man sprawled on the sidewalk, suffering from a possible stroke, near the candidate’s campaign office in Poughkeepsie.

The individual was semi-conscious and gagging on his own vomit when Molinaro found him at around 12:48 p.m. and called 911, according to Poughkeepsie Fire Chief Mark Johnson.

“It seemed to be a medical issue,” the chief said, noting that Molinaro knelt down to help the man as a passer-by stopped to help. “They both gave him assistance.” At one point, the man woke up, vomited and passed out again. But Molinaro and the good Samaritan were there to aid him while they waited for paramedics. “I’m just glad I was there to help,” Molinaro said.

The Dutchess County executive has 15 years’ experience volunteering at his local fire department in Tivoli, and knew exactly what to do.

  1. To his credit, Andrew Cuomo once stopped on the side of the Thruway to help a Chassidishe Yid who had a flat tire. Nonetheless my family & I will be voting for Molinaro.
