NY-NJ Port Authority Chief Quits

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie announced Friday during a press conference that David Samson, the head of the New Jersey-New York Port Authority, will resign effective immediately.

“The timing is now right,” Samson said in a statement, “and I am confident that the governor will put new leadership in place to address the many challenges ahead.” Federal prosecutors started recently looking into Samson’s private business interests and his leadership of the authority that controls the states’ transit infrastructure. Read more at the Wall Street Journal.
