brisThe American Academy of Pediatrics has shifted its stance on infant male circumcision, announcing today that new research, including studies in Africa suggesting that the procedure may protect men against H.I.V., indicated that the health benefits outweighed the risks.

But the academy stopped short of recommending routine circumcision for all baby boys, saying the decision remains a family matter.

  1. Great to see medical experts having the guts to get their policy up to speed with scientific research in spite of the howling misfits constantly lobbying everyone. Thumbs up for making progress.

  2. This is a retreat.
(Once the ‘frum’ stood up firm,)
they all know they were bound to lose,
so altogether they find ways to cover, for a later date

  3. This is not about bris milah-it is about male circumcision. It does not even deal with matters such as metzitzah. The fact that circumcision reduces the risk of HIV is wonderful but not really relevant to the bnei bris community

  4. The fact that they stopped short of recommending circumicision for all baby boys is a major positive. We want goyim to keep their orlas. Only we Jews are binei bris.
