Eric Adams, the new mayor of New York City, has appointed three Jews — including two members of the Orthodox community — to senior positions in his administration.
Menashe Shapiro, who was a consultant to the Adams campaign, will be deputy chief of staff.
Fred Kreizman, who was Bloomberg’s Jewish liaison, will be commissioner of Mayor’s Community Affairs Unit.
Adams also appointed real estate attorney Ed Mermelstein, an Ukrainian-born Jew, as commissioner of the Mayor’s Office of International Affairs.
