New York New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio signed legislation yesterday that requires all single-occupancy bathrooms to be available for all genders, the Wall Street Journal reports.

The mayor, entering into a national debate on bathroom usage, said businesses citywide will have to post signs on every single-occupancy bathroom stating the new rules. The signs must be up by Jan. 1, though the rules take effect four months from now.

“With this bill, we take yet another step toward becoming a place where all can live with dignity, free from fear and free from judgment,” Mr. de Blasio, a Democrat, said in a statement.

  1. I dont understand what the big deal about this is. It’s a single occupancy bathroom! it should have been like this always.

  2. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.

  3. Chazal tell us (Shabbos 54b) that those who could be “mocheh” (lit.
protest) against wrongdoers of their city/country/world are held accountable for
    their aveiros;…
against the wrongdoers throughout the world are held accountable for
    *their* sins.

  4. The Rambam (Mishneh Torah, Hil. Daiyos 6:1) writes that it is in the nature of man to be drawn after the beliefs and actions of

his friends and neighbors and to act like those in his medina; therefore, he must attach himself to tzadikim and distance himself from

    evildoers.

This directive is especially relevant now that the movement to celebrate “relationships” (“abomination”) by the

Torah has been sweeping the country, and eroding society’s attitude towards one of the worse aveiros (sins) [see

Vayikra (Lev.) 18:22; 20:13; Talmud Chullin 92], fulfilling the type of ultimate inversion described in Yishaya (Isaiah) 5:20. This sin was

one of the contributing factors which prompted The Master of the World to destroy Civilization by the Flood in the time of Noah (see

Beraishis Rabbah 26, par.5 (par. 4 or 9 in some versions), on Ber. (Gen.) 6:2).

Additionally, unlike other anti-Torah policies, this particular class of aveiros is being promoted as an ideal to be celebrated, not

merely a “right” entitled to protection. Furthermore, government recognizing these “relationships” in any way – including same-gender-
couple adoption – is not only permitting such conduct – it’s providing a State-haskomo (approbation) to this aveirah.

Moreover, To’aiva-“Marriage” (a.k.a. “Marriage-Redefinition”), specifically, is a unique evil. Equating same-gender unions and

authentic marriages completely eliminates the distinction between something totally good (see Gen. 2:18-24) and something that is

totally evil (Lev. 20:13). Thereby, it eliminates the very distinction between Good and Evil themselves.

In addition to everything stated above, various commentaries on the verse in Yeshaya (42:6) explain the concept of “Ohr

[L’]goyim” (“light unto the nations”) as the directive to the Jewish people to serve as a guide to the non- Jewish world to uphold the

Seven Laws that apply to all mankind – including the prohibitions against to’aiva acts – for the benefit of all mankind.

  5. Once US of A was a malchus shel chessed,but today….

A malchus shel chessed IS, and only is, a country that HAS APPROPRIATE VALUES and still makes room for us

Was Cana’an a malchus shel chessed??

They were all in all, very tolerant/pluralistic

WE still were commanded to wipe them out

    How come??

  6. Will people feign to claim being afraid of being sued?
If so,according to ruling of R’Herschel Schachter that would presumably put it within the realm of Sha’as Ha’shmad

  7. I would like to take this opportunity to thank those who voted FOR this all important bill. Mamesh a Kiddush Hashem.

  8. Does this mean that all public bathrooms with multiple stalls most do not have partitions that reach ceiling to floor and share one public entrance or only completely separate, completely enclosed individual units?

  9. Uch!! If someone can’t figure out what he is, he should not be in a public place, he should be institutionalized!
