Kein ayin hara, the number of students enrolled in yeshivos and Bais Yaakovs in New York State has exceeded 100,000 for the first time since such records have been kept.

The tally includes students – boys and girls – in kindergarten thru twelfth grade.

New York State figures reveal that there are 101,120 students in Jewish private schools.

There are 137,283 students in other parochial schools.

Non-public school students make up 18 percent of total school enrollment in New York State.

In the entire state, there are 412,000 non-public school children. A quarter of these students attend yeshivas and Bais Yaakovs.

  1. the yeshivos should tell parents to “register” into public schools but not send them – just to get buildings for the yeshivos from the government.

  2. Wow. With these numbers, I see a real estate crisis getting worse!!! B”H for Yiddishe children. We need to think of housing solutions. Hopefully, the Geula will solve our problem!!!
