1010 WINS reports: With only a number of days left in NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio’s administration, the city will implement a vaccine mandate for all private sector employers starting Monday amid rising COVID cases.

The mandate announced Dec. 6 will require employees to have at least one vaccine dose by Monday, with no option to test. Employees will then have 45 days to show proof of their second dose if they received the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine.

The order only applies to employees who work in-person or interact with the public. Non-employee workers, like contractors, will also be required to follow the vaccine mandate.

Employers will need to keep a record of each worker’s proof of vaccination and ensure employees who have had their first dose of Pfizer or Moderna get their second shot.

Businesses will need to complete a certificate by Monday to ensure they are complying with the city’s mandate. It must then be posted in a public area.

Starting Monday, businesses may not allow unvaccinated workers to come to their workplace, defined as “any location — including a vehicle — where you work in the presence of at least one other person.”

Some other exceptions from the mandate include:

• Those making “pitstops” at businesses to use the restroom, make a delivery, clock in or receive an assignment.
• Non-NYC resident performing artists, college or professional athletes, and anyone who accompanies them.
• People who request “reasonable” accommodations for religious or medical reasons need to be approved.

In addition, starting Monday, New York City’s “Key to Vaccine” mandate will require people ages 12 and over who wish to access indoor dining, fitness and entertainment venues to provide proof that they have had a second dose.

    Oh Lord. God help us.
So now we’re not allowed to take a leak in an undisclosed location???

    • >>> So now we’re not allowed to take a leak in an undisclosed location???

Are you completely incapable of reading an English sentence?

The posting explicitly states that ad hoc restroom breaks are “EXCEPTIONS from the mandate.”

Please see your English teacher after school for extra help.

    • America hasn’t gone down the toilet, but you should remove your head therefrom.
If basic language comprehension is too difficult for you, ask someone to read it for you twice, slowly, and certainly refrain from posting your own brilliant thoughts.
For your unscheduled leaks, use Depends.

  2. Exciting news! Can’t wait! And if the incoming Mayor won’t have the backbone to enforce coumo and deblasios policies he should be removed.
