The New York City Police Department is taking additional precautions to safeguard Jewish neighborhoods and shuls around the city for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.
Police Commissioner Ray Kelly says shuls remain targets for terrorists. But he says there have been no specific threats.
As a precaution though, the department is increasing foot patrols and sending out counter-terrorism teams.
