Detectives from the New York Police Department (NYPD) arrived in Atlanta on Saturday to further investigate the ongoing search for the assassin responsible for the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. The officers made the trip after receiving a significant number of tips that may lead to the still unidentified suspect, as reported by ABC News.

While the Atlanta Police Department confirmed the NYPD’s arrival, they refrained from offering any further information on the matter.

According to reports, the suspect is believed to have traveled from Atlanta to New York on a Greyhound bus on November 24. On December 4, the masked gunman shot Thompson at close range outside the New York Hilton Midtown, where UnitedHealthcare had been holding an investors’ conference. Following the attack, authorities claim the suspect fled New York City by bus.

NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch referred to the killing as “brazen” and “targeted.”

Despite the continued search for the individual, new images of the suspect were made public, and investigators are reportedly pursuing leads in various states.
