As the 2012 election drew close, White House officials concerned about President Obama’s chances considered swapping out Vice President Joe Biden with then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on the ticket.
The revelations come from an upcoming book about the election called Double Down: Game Change 2012. On Thursday, former White House Chief of Staff Bill Daley said the plan was rebuked after polls showed it wouldn’t improve Obama’s prospect.
Daley added that he wasn’t sure if Obama ever weighed in on the matter or what his view was. Read more at The New York Times.
