When it released seven men as part of a prisoner swap with Iran, the Obama Administration hid the fact that some were accused by Obama’s own Justice Department of posing threats to national security, according to a report Monday.
Three allegedly were part of an illegal procurement network supplying Iran with U.S.-made microelectronics that can be used in surface-to-air cruise missiles, Politico reported. One was serving an eight-year sentence for conspiring to supply Iran with satellite technology and hardware.
In announcing the deal that secured the long-awaited release of Washington Post reporter Jason Rezaian, former Marine Amir Hekmati and three other Americans, President Obama referred to the seven men being exchanged as “civilians.” Read ore at NY Post.

Ex-president Obama epitomized presidential hubris while he was in office, from mocking Mitt Romney’s (accurate) portrayal of Russia as the U.S’s adversary to his contemptuous dismissal of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s concerns about the Iran nuke deal to his ramming through Obamacare with his “If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor” lie. He may have been the most arrogant President in U.S. history, believing that his intellectual and moral superiority gave him license to prevaricate to the great unwashed in pursuit of his lofty goals. That being the case, this latest revelation of yet another deception in pursuit of a signature achievement, i.e. the Iran deal, is anything but a surprise.
