obama_mail_500pxPresident Obama has many issues on his mind, but Sarah Palin isn’t one of them. In a brief clip of his interview with Barbara Walters shown on “Good Morning America” today, the President shrugged of a question asking whether he thought he could beat the Tea Party darling in the 2012 election.

“I don’t speculate on what’s going to happen two years from now,” Obama said.

When Walters chided the President for not answering the question, he smiled and said, “What I’m saying is I don’t think about Sarah Palin.”

Last week, Palin told Walters she thought she could beat Obama.

“I believe I could,” Palin said.

With unemployment still at 9.6% and a Republican-controlled House set to clash with Obama next year, the President will have more than enough to worry about in the next two years.

Obama told Walters he is more focused on being “the best possible President.”

The former Alaska governor and GOP vice presidential nominee in 2008 has not formally said she will make a White House run in 2012.

A survey released Monday showed that Obama has an 8% edge over Palin if the election were held now, though 49% said the President did not deserve a second term.
