Obama Proposes $1B Cancer ‘Moonshot’

Making good on his State of the Union “moonshot” promise, President Obama’s budget will propose spending close to $1 billion over two years on fighting cancer.

According to White House officials, the president is set to ask Congress for $755 million in 2017, and $195 million for this year, in funding largely focused on the National Institutes of Health’s efforts in early detection and treatment of all kinds of cancer. Read more at NBC News.
