President Obama announced plans to skip congressional approval and change immigration policy by executive action in June. As the White House works on the executive order, more than 20 “listening sessions” have been held to examine the president’s options.
Encouraged by Obama’s willingness to go it alone, the White House has been filled with lobbyists, politicians, businesses, and interest groups seeking to gain the president’s ear.
