Ocasio-Cortez Points Finger At Netanyahu, Accusing Him Of ‘Unjust,’ ‘Inhumane Policies’

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday of enacting “unjust and inhumane policies.”

“The Netanyahu administration has been pursuing a lot of extraordinarily concerning policies,” she told reporters. “To conflate an individual leader or ego with being against the entire country I think is a hallmark behavior of folks like our president.”

“Just like we have the ability to criticize our president without being anti-American, I believe we can criticize the policies and decisions that the administration over there is pursuing without being against a country overall,” continued the freshman congresswoman. “In fact, I think that what we all are united for is for a peaceful future that is just and economically just, socially just and culturally just that provides for the civil rights and human rights of all people.”

“They can no longer use this allegation of anti-Semitism to defend their unjust and inhumane policies that hurt all people,” she added. “And frankly, I think it damages the security of all people—Israeli, Palestinian alike. You can’t use this cudgel of anti-Semitism to scare people away from pointing that out.”

Ocasio-Cortez also said, “We won’t stand up for that anymore, and we have to stand up for the peace and security of Israeli and Palestinian people. But frankly, Trump’s policies do not advance that and neither do Netanyahu’s.”

The congresswoman’s remarks added to her criticisms of Israel over the past few weeks.

On Aug. 15, in response to Israel barring Reps. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) and Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) from entering the country due to their support of the anti-Israel BDS movement, Ocasio-Cortez tweeted that members of Congress “are frequently asked to visit Israel to ‘see things for ourselves.’ But Netanyahu choosing to ban the only 2 Muslim women in Congress from entering tells the US that only [some] Americans are welcome to Israel, not all. Trump is exporting his bigotry &making matters worse.”

But Netanyahu choosing to ban the only 2 Muslim women in Congress from entering tells the US that only *some* Americans are welcome to Israel, not all.

In late July, Ocasio-Cortez, who voted against a resolution that month condemning the anti-BDS movement in addition to signing onto Omar’s pro-BDS resolution, concurred with a New York radio host, saying that what’s happening in Israel is “very criminal.” She even gave a shout-out to the anti-Israel group IfNotNow.

  1. What a piece of trash! Iran, Qatar Yemen are all fine! Saudi Arabia, Libya Syria are all fine! Syria gasses its own people but Netanyahu is the problem! The Palestinians are brutal and inhumane for real but why confuse this piece of trash with the facts!

  2. “Just like we have the ability to criticize our president without being anti-American, I believe we can criticize the policies and decisions that the administration over there is pursuing without being against a country overall,”

Which other foreign leader has she ever criticized?

  3. Does anyone take her seriously? I have worked with children with severe intellectual impairment. At any point in time, any of them does far better than this certified airhead. She has proven to all of America, via her countless statements to the media and her rants on social media, that she knows nothing about anything. Her understanding about economics is zero, maybe less. She publicly admitted understanding absolutely nothing about the Middle East. Immigration – she needed to lie in order to have a statement to make. Her only mission of getting into Congress is for the status and power. I cannot even give her credit for trying to advance an ideology because she lacks the basic intellect to even fathom what all that means.

The only credit I give her is mastering the ability to produce grammatically correct sentences (most of the time) while saying absolutely nothing of intellectual value. Babbling babies make more sense.

  4. She is not an antisemite. She simply believes that seeking to economically strangle Israel, put millions of Israeli Jews out of work and make Israel (and Israel only) a pariah state among all the nations in the world, as BDS is seeking to do, is a reasonable objective which she supports.

She’s not an antisemite. She simply believes that building fences (at great cost and loss of labor that Israel would love to be able to use elsewhere) to prevent innocent men, women and children from being massacred is racist and indicative of an apartheid state.

She’s not an antisemite. She’s simply pointing out that Israel isn’t allowing the two U.S. Reps who are Muslim women to enter their country. (The fact that Israel actually DID allow Rep. Tlaib to enter as long as she didn’t actively agitate against them while there, but she rejected that condition after initially agreeing to it must be irrelevant. The fact that Israel allows many people of Islamic faith to enter is also irrelevant. The fact that Israel doesn’t allow ANYBODY who promotes BDS to enter.. you guessed it, irrelevant.)

She’s not an antisemite. Clearly. After all of the above facts, what further proof do you need?

  5. She just said a lot of gibberish and hyperbole but she didn’t state a single example of how Netanyahu is perpetrating an inhumane policy. I see AOC is missing the limelight so she figured she’ll throw out a couple of accusations and see where it leads. An accusation made by a Democrat is always %100 true and the irresponsible media licks it up.

  6. ok, aoc, just leave your compatriots out of Israel. dont DARE send anyone to that country for medical care. who knows, we might G-d forbid keep someone alive

  7. When aoc says something is bad… you know its good. Same with Sanders. What they say is good you know is horrible… it’s easy. Just what is opposite of truth

  8. Dearie to hard days. She really worries about little faces to wage war. Her trash BDS.

In the reality, her enemy begins life with a dreidel. What a sad fortune. Several sides to come up. We can find one for her. A war.
