A police officer who authorities say shot and killed a Black man in a Minneapolis suburb after a traffic stop has been charged with second-degree manslaughter, a prosecutor said Wednesday.

Brooklyn Center police Officer Kim Potter is charged in Sunday’s shooting death of 20-year-old Daunte Wright, Washington County Attorney Pete Orput said.
In Minnesota, second-degree manslaughter applies when authorities allege a person causes someone’s death by “culpable negligence whereby the person creates an unreasonable risk, and consciously takes chances of causing death or great bodily harm to another.”
Someone convicted of this charge would face a sentence of up to 10 years in prison and/or a fine of up to $20,000.

  1. So basically this prosecutor is charging that this white female police officer woke up in the morning and said, I want to kill a black chior boy today. I’m going to search out an innocent black male, minding his own business and I’m going to shoot him to death. This country is done. These corrupt prosecutor’s and judges are bringing back the days of Sodom and Gomorrah.
In other news, another 20 blacks were slaughtered like sheep over the weekend in Chicago and not a peep is made by the the woke media, Biden, or BLM.

  2. Why anyone would want to be/stay a cop in this environment is beyond me.
The cops should have a national 2 day strike and everyone will be begging to have them back (except of course for the criminals. Makes you wonder.)

  3. P.O. Potter made a terrible and tragic mistake in a chaotic and pressure-filled struggle while trying to arrest a suspect. While she may deserve to lose her job (part of being a cop is handling such situations correctly), charging her with a crime seems to be a complete prosecutorial overreach.
