Rep. Ilhan Omar said Monday that U.S. aid to Israel should be tied to its treatment of Palestinians, questioning whether the funds should continue after the country blocked her and Rep. Rashida Tlaib from visiting in an official capacity.

“We give Israel more than $3 million in aid every year. This is predicated on their being an important ally in the region and the ‘only democracy’ in the Middle East. But denying visit to duly elected members of Congress is not consistent with being an ally. And denying millions of people freedom of movement or expression or self-determination is not consistent with being a democracy,” Omar said at the press conference in St. Paul, Minn.

Omar had planned to travel with Tlaib to Israel this month until the Israeli government announced last week that it would deny them both entry, citing their past criticism.

  1. As a taxpayer, I reconsidered Omar’s salary. I’ve decided I no longer want a portion of my hard earned salary going to her so she can sit on her hands and spew anti semitism from her mouth.

  2. What is a cleaning lady doing the US Congress venting anti Semitism.
Time to leave US Congress. There are plenty of people looking for cleaning ladies.
