Florida Republican Party chairman Lenny Curry and the GOP’s chair of its Jewish Leadership Council apparently can’t wait for Pesach.
The GOP released a statement today from Jeffrey Feingold on behalf of Curry and Gov. Rick Scott “to wish everyone a happy and healthy Pesach.”
Fifteen minutes later the state Republican Party issued another statement – albeit quite brief – noting it had erroneously released the message early, claiming they were aware the Passover holiday doesn’t begin until sundown April 6 – two weeks from now.
Republicans are hoping for more support from Jewish voters in the November general election. President Barack Obama won nearly four of every five Jewish votes in Florida in his decisive 2008 victory.
