I will be voting for Donald Trump as the candidate choice for president in the New York primary on April 19th and I urge all of the registered Republican voters in Boro Park and Flatbush and in other Orthodox Jewish communities across the state of New York to cast their vote for Donald Trump.

Yirmiyahu Hanovi said to the Jewish people who were exiled to Bavel, “Build homes and settle in and seek the welfare of the city in which you reside and pray for its peace and serenity for in its welfare and serenity, you yourself will have peace and serenity.”

This is the guiding principle for our sojourn in all of the lands and countries that we have lived since we were exiled. We thank G-d and our gracious host, the United States of America, for so kindly accepting us in their midst and letting us thrive and practice our religion and raise families.

As recognized citizens in this great country, we must seek and pray for the welfare of the United States of America. The United States, which is the beacon and hope for all of mankind, has in the last few years undergone a great deterioration. People are struggling to find decent jobs which can produce a livelihood. The concept of the American family where you have a father, mother, children and grandparents living together helping each other and nurturing their children has been denigrated by the leftist parties and media, further deteriorating the moral fabric of our society.

Donald Trump’s campaign theme is “Make America Great Again,” promising to restore prosperity to our country by restarting the economic engine of the United States of America, and shredding and throwing all of the chains such as taxes and regulations that prevent our country from thriving and providing good and meaningful lives for all of our people.

The governmental establishment has never run a large business and has no idea how to make the economy prosper. When New York City was unable to repair and rehabilitate the Central Park skating rink which was neglected for many years, Donald Trump stepped into and restored the skating rink to its previous glory. He will do this for our great country and will restore the United States of America to be once again the beacon and light to the nations of the world.

It is crucial that our communities step up to the plate and come out in great numbers to vote for Donald Trump this Tuesday. He is the current Republican presidential front-runner, and our vote will result in his winning the bulk of the delegates up for grabs to put him over the top, thus eliminating a contentious convention which could fracture the Republican Party. As a result, Donald Trump and the Republican Party will recognize our communities and help us against the elements and forces that have denied our parents and children their inalienable right to educate our children in our private schools.

I will be taking up the cause for the Republican presidential candidate, which I hope will be Donald Trump.

  1. Donald Trump will only destroy the moral fabric of our country. Just look at how much profanity, cursing, and derogatory language we have had to endure from him this far! He is obviously not in control of his tongue and his temper, a prerequisite to any leadership position.

It is not by chance that we are on the verge of the fracturing of the Republican party: it is due to Trump’s unparalleled divisiveness. It is impossible to unite behind a person with such an ugly personality.

Moreover, Trump will not “make America great again”. He will make it poorer. It does not make sense that he will force Apple to make iphones in the U.S. If he tries that, only America will lose as Apple will go elsewhere. Same with his promise to raise taxes on imported goods from China and elsewhere – the cost of living will go up but we will not have an increase in jobs. As a person who comes from Israel, where the import taxes are high, I know what happens when you increase import taxes: the black market flourishes!

A vote for Trump is a vote for Clinton – he cannot win in the general elections because he cannot unite people behind him. He also does not have the political will and know-how to do the necessary nitty-gritty political ground work that is necessary in the general elections.

  2. …our vote will result in his winning the bulk of the delegates up for grabs to put him over the top…
Very, very unlikely that the NY frum vote gives Trump enough delegates to put him over the top and win a first-ballot nomination.

…help us against the elements and forces that have denied our parents and children their inalienable right to educate our children in our private schools.
I have no idea what R’ Nachman is talking about. I’d appreciate it if somebody could explain this above statement.

  3. First of all, although we are grateful to Hashem for giving us freedom in America, we have to realize that America is NOT the “beacon of light.” Eretz Yisroel is. Second, I might be missing something here but just because Donald Trump had the money to repair a skating rink, that means he has the abilities and brains (not to mention manners) to run this country?

If Donald Trump wins the Republican nomination, I personally will not be voting- not for him and not for Clinton.

  4. Trump is a pro-abortionist. (In a 1999 interview, he stated that he’s “very pro choice” and even supported partial birth abortions.
Donald has been advocating for LGBT “rights” from as far back as the year 2000.
Regarding Israel, he promises to be neutral and to have Israel pay for Americas help.
Maybe just as importantly, his stance on discrimination based on religion, something we as Jews must be extra sensitive to, is extremely frightening.
Crying about the decline in morality and voting Trump, frankly acting religious and voting Trump, is like saying “I only keep kosher at home”.

  5. Morality? Out the window.

  6. Shame on Mr. Caller for kissing up and pandering to his immoral lowlife real estate friend, Mr. Trump. I see Mr. Caller threw in the garbage all his alleged “Torah Values”. He used to rail against all the evil toeivaniks but now everything is beseder?! Pheh!

  7. Cruz 2016
He wants to keep America a place of religious freedom as well as be a friend of Israel.
Trump has not proved to be a good role model of morality for frum Jews.

  8. WOW!! The biggest accomplishment you can boast about is Donald paying to repair an ice skating rink! So, if Donald Trump wins the presidency we will “Make Ice Skating Great Again!”

Also, Trump’s support for Israel has been shaky at best. Being the grand marshal at a parade? Meh! “I have donated so much money to Israel”. Who is this “Israel” he speaks of? It isn’t the country, that is for sure! The only legitimate interactions that Trump has had with the Jewish community thus far, is his meeting this morning with some newspaper reps (in his own building), his lousy speech read word for word from a teleprompter at AIPAC, and his horrible speech to the Republican Jewish Coalition. His speech to the RJC was FULL of (hopefully unintentional) antisemitic and stereotypical comments. His stance on Israel is no where near where it should be for someone running on a republican ticket.
When it comes to other policies, he has barely explained how he will complete any of the tasks he has laid out. I will admit, he talks a good game and definitely knows how to reach out to the angry voter, but he has no history to back up his claims. In fact, most of his history is the opposite of the very things he says that he supports right now! Donald’s response to that is “Ronald Reagan was a democrat”. Ronald Reagan was a known and public conservative for over 4 years before he got elected president. He got knocked out at the convention the first time he tried to run in 1976. Donald Trump supported Hillary in 2008 (and said in 2011 that she was the best secretary of state that we have ever had), and has funded campaigns for many liberal congressmen since then. His only anti liberal accomplishment has been getting Obama to release his birth certificate. YAY FOR DONALD!!

All that said, if Trump becomes the nominee, I WILL vote for him (it would take something massively illegal/immoral to change that). Joining this #NEVERTrump movement only increases the chance of Hillary winning the election

Please consider voting for the candidate (Cruz) who has a consistent record of being conservative and fighting for conservative values. (Before the senate, he was constitutional lawyer). Consider voting for the candidate (Cruz) who has gone to Washington and done exactly what he said he would do while campaigning. (For those of you who want to say he was always shunned and was always by himself on many of his arguments? AT LEAST HE TRIED!!! AT LEAST HE DIDN’T GIVE IN TO RINOs OR LIBERALS!!)

    • Cruz is not a conservative he is a tea partynik they redefine what it means to be conservative and then call everyone who isnt a nut job like them not conservative!

  9. He is correct. We can’t let America turn into another Europe where dangerous terrorists are flooding all of Europe and attacking jews every day. It’s not only bombings but Jews attacked or harassed every single day in paris,Belgium, Germany, etc. keep Brooklyn safe. Vote Trump.

  10. Compare this article to the substance filled one from Cruz Advisor Nick Muzin,
and all the rest..is better left unsaid.

  11. I can’t believe how any frum jew can vote for Trump. He has proven himself to divisive, and hateful. Yes, I agree with almost everything he says but there is a way to get your message across without offending others. Someone who aspires to be the leader of a country has to be able to work with others and even when you can’t see eye to eye with the other party you can disagree without resorting to name calling and insults. Trump will be a disaster for the country.

    • Learn the history of presidential politics it has always been dirty business. Albeit recently it has gotten very diplomatic doesnt change the history of the path to the presidency!

  12. Trump is an emotionally unhealthy man who is totally unfit for the presidency.

A man who boycotts a debate because he feels the moderator treated him unfairly and he can’t get over it, a man who cannot under any circumstances ever publicly admit to having made a mistake and always blames someone else for his failures (I could go on and on) does not have the skills or the mental/emotional competence needed to run this country!

Furthermore, his principles (such as they are) are highly suspect. The reason he can’t answer any question on any policy – even abortion, which for any real pro-lifer would be a no-brainer – coherently is because he’s been a conservative for maybe fifteen minutes and has given no real thought to what that means.

As for Israel, Trump’s behavior on the campaign trail should leave no doubt that if it were in his interests, he would throw Israel under the bus in no time flat.

And as for fracturing the Republican party, the chances of that happening are just as good if Trump gets the nomination as they are for a contested convention. Cruz, beyond being a true conservative and an all-weather friend of Israel and the Jewish people, has a much better chance of unifying the Republican vote behind him than Trump does. Other than Massachusetts, where Trump came close to 50%, he hasn’t one more than a third of the vote (plus-minus) in ANY SINGLE STATE. And huge swaths of the Republican voters will sit home rather than sully their vote by casting it for either Trump or Hillary Clinton. All polls show Clinton winning against Trump in a landslide; not so for Cruz.

If you REALLY want to cast a vote that will help not only our community but the United States of America, VOTE FOR CRUZ and STOP Trump from reaching 1,237 votes before the convention!!!!!!

  13. This is just silly. In what way does repairing an ice skating rink imply fitness for the presidency? And in what way does running a real estate development company establish that the person running the company knows anything about macroeconomics and how to jumpstart a national economy? These are rhetorical questions, of course.

You note that Trump’s campaign theme includes “shredding and throwing all of the chains such as taxes and regulations that prevent our country from thriving.” Oh, really? Care to point to a single regulation that Trump has identified as one that he would end? Or a single tax?

The reality is that Trump is a big-government liberal who has never expressed the slightest interest in scaling back regulations or shrinking the size of government. For you to suggest otherwise is simply dishonest.

PS – You do know that Trump simply recycled Ronald Reagan’s campaign slogan, right?

  14. Wow! As much as I disagree with you Mr. Caller, I gotta hand it to you for going out on a limb! But, then again, you must’ve learned a lesson from your hero. Whatever it takes to make news…
Although I just skimmed the comments, I doubt I can add to much to the previous comments. Let me suffice with a few sentences.
As a Rebbe, I was struck speechless when a boy asked me if I heard/watched one of the debates. I was just conjuring up in my mind the picture of this boy with his family watching the debate when this buffoon “guarantees” the US public that we have nothing to worry about… V’hameiven Yaven.
Although we truly can say Shelo Asani Goy on any president, the morals and values this fellow airs to the public unabashedly, with the greatest aplomb is totally antithesis of anything we’d want ourselves or our children to see and witness on a daily basis.
Even if we’d ignore the above, anyone who actually believes this guy would, or even can, fix the problems this country faces, let alone keep us out of worse issues, must surely be incredulously naive.
