Over Two Hundred Births in Eretz Yisroel Over Yom Kippur

Over 200 babies were born in Israeli hospitals during Yom Kippur. MDA teams transferred 174 women to hospitals in Yerushalayim, Bnei Brak, Kiryat Gat, Givat Ze’ev, Ramat Gan and elsewhere.

There is usually a large number of births on Yom Kippur, as women who are fasting go into labor.

At Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Yerushalayim, 60 women gave birth.

At the Soroka Medical Center in Be’er Sheva, 42 babies were born. At Assaf Harofeh Medical Center in Tzrifin, 32 new babies – 20 boys and 12 girls – were born.

At the Meir Medical Center, there were 25 births, including a pair of twins. One mother gave birth in an ambulance at the entrance to the hospital.

In the delivery rooms of Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon, 20 babies were born. At Hillel Yaffe Hospital in Chadera, 13 babies were born. At Assuta Medical Center in Ashdod, 13 babies were born.

At the Galilee Medical Center, seven babies were born during Yom Kippur: 11 boys and 6 girls.

Babies were also born at Hadassah Ein Kerem and Hadassah Mount Scopus.
