holtzbergThe case filed against ISI by relatives of Rav Gavriel and Rivky Holtzberg, killed in the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai, India, could be “disastrous” as the negative reaction against it would undermine the US goals in the region, the lawyer representing the Pakistani intelligence agency has said. Kevin Walsh, the lawyer, asked for the case to be thrown out warning of its negative consequences and potential to fuel violence and extremism, The New York Post reported.

“The consequences of this judicial inquiry have the potential to be disastrous,” Walsh argued in a letter filed on Friday with a federal judge.

“The intrusion of these actions into the politics of Pakistan will fuel violence and extremism, directed against the government the US intends to support,” the attorney argues.

Walsh argued that US courts do not have jurisdiction over government agencies in Pakistan, The Post reported.

Last year, relatives of Rabbi  Holtzberg sued ISI and terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba, in the Brooklyn Federal Court for wrongful death.

Reb Gavriel and his wife, who originally were from Brooklyn were killed when the attackers entered the Chabad center in November 2008.

While their unborn child was killed, their two-year-old son Moishe was rescued by his Indian nanny in the attack that killed 166 people.

The lawsuit claims that ISI has worked closely with LeT and seeks damages.

The claim is largely based on the involvement of Pakistani American national David Headley in conducting detailed surveillance of the attack targets for LeT. Headley has pleaded guilty to plotting the attacks.

“The alliance with Pakistan is an extremely sensitive, important and difficult relationship for the United States,” Walsh said in the letter.

  1. Why do I have the feeling that this move on te part of Pakistan’s American legal counsel will be self-defeating?

Aside from appearing to violate the principle of not interfering in the domestic affairs of another sovereign state, just what sanctions can Pakistan use against the United States?

Pakistan’s ISI operatives have been “caught with their pants down”, so there is little they and their bosses can do except holler.

  2. I say, sue their pant’s off! What kind of giberish are you reporting? You have to repeat what the Anti Semetic State Department spew’s forth?! If the name was Joe McConner, you wouldn’t hear a peep, but because it’s an Orthodox Jew, suddenly were so concerned about backlash! Jewish blood is cheap! That seams to be the Obama policy. “Don’t affend the Muslim’s even when they murder us”! Outrageous! And I’m sure you dummies will vote for him again!

  3. Fellow Yid:

In your rush into print you would seem to have totally misread the story – if indeed you ever read it at all.

Nowhere does the story mention the State Department – “Anti Semetic” or not.

Nowhere does the name of President Obama appear in the story, either.

    As someone else mentioned the other day: !?? ?????? ??? ???? ??? ????? ?? ????? ??? ????
