Palestinian chief negotiator Saeb Erekat, who spent more than three decades leading peace talks with Israel, died Tuesday weeks after contracting COVID-19. He was 65.
Erekat’s death, reported by The Associated Press and Reuters, prompted Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to declare a three-day mourning period in which flags will be flown at half-mast.

The PA (Palestinian Authority), grateful to Israel for expending every effort in the attempt to save Saeb Erekat, can be expected to put out a statement to this effect: “Genocidal Israel has cold-bloodedly murdered heroic Saeb Erekat. In honor of his memory we pledge to continue our resistance to the illegal occupation.”
The PA’s enthusiastic backers worldwide, including Reps. Tlaib, Omar, AOC, Senator Sanders and the leaders of BLM applaud and support that statement.
He regularly acted in a dastardly manner toward the Jewish people and the State of Israel.
That made him a real dastard. (yes, it’s in the dictionary.)
