An Israeli military court accepted a plea deal on Wednesday for Palestinian teen Ahed Tamimi, that will see her serve eight months in prison after a viral video showed her hit two Israeli soldiers.
The 17-year-old is pleaded guilty to four counts including assault, incitement and two counts of obstructing soldiers. The original 12 counts she was initially charged with were dropped.
Her sentence will include time served and a fine of 5,000 shekels, said Tamimi’s lawyer Gaby Lasky, meaning she could be released in the summer.
