Palestinians Favor Jailed Terrorist Replacement For Abbas As PA Pres. Health Declines

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas would be replaced by terrorist Marwan Barghouti were an election to be held today, a new survey revealed on Wednesday.

Barghouti, convicted in 2004, is serving out five life sentences for five counts of murder, one count of attempted murder, and was implicated in four other terror attacks during the second Intifada.

Barghouti has remained politically active behind bars, and is a popular figure among Palestinians who on many occasions have tipped him among likely candidates to succeed 82-year-old Abbas. Speculations over the replacement of Abbas begun after Abbas was hospitalized in May, reportedly suffering from from pneumonia and heart issues.
